TCNJ JOURNAL OF STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP, 2025 EDITION

TCNJ Journal of Student Scholarship was first published in 1998 to provide a forum for outstanding examples of research fostered by the collaboration of TCNJ students and faculty. The twenty-seventh volume of the Journal, scheduled to be published in April 2025, will continue that tradition. Hoffman Prize: Essays published in TCNJ Journal of Student Scholarship will be considered for the $1,500 Hoffman Prize, awarded annually to the student who writes the best essay published in the Journal.

This is an open invitation to all students (including graduating seniors and graduate students) to submit, and to all faculty members to encourage students to submit copies of PAPERS OF EXCEPTIONAL MERIT for possible publication in the 2025 edition of the Journal of Student Scholarship. The Journal welcomes submissions from students in ALL academic disciplines. PAPERS should be no more than twenty typewritten, double-spaced pages in length, excluding abstracts and notes. There is no minimum length. Students should include a brief abstract of no more than 250 words summarizing the argument of the paper. Students will be informed in a timely manner whether their papers have been selected for publication and, if selected, what kind of revisions may be required before publication. Please note that publication is now in electronic format, allowing for production of color photographs, tables, charts, and graphs, and ease of hyperlinking.

In addition, students (including graduating seniors and graduate students) who, individually or in collaboration with a faculty member, have presented (or had accepted for presentation) work at a regional, national, or international conference after September 1, 2022, are encouraged to submit CONFERENCE ABSTRACTS for recognition in the Journal. The ABSTRACT should be no more than 300 words long, and must include the name, date, and location of the professional meeting at which the work was presented. Students (including graduating seniors and graduate students), who individually or in collaboration with a faculty member, have had work published (or accepted for publication) after September 1, 2021, are encouraged to submit a BIBLIOGRAPHIC CITATION of their work for inclusion in a special section of the Journal.

The deadline for all submissions is Saturday, November 30, 2024.
All students (including graduating seniors and graduate students) should provide contact information, including e-mail addresses and phone numbers at which they can be reached in the summer of 2024 and the fall and winter of 2024-2025. The complete list of style and format requirements for publication (as well as previous editions of the Journal) is available on this Website. Please follow the formatting and submission directions and consult previous issues of the Journal when preparing your essays for submission.
